1. About these Terms

KL City (“KL City“, “we“, “us“, “our“) operates the website at klcity.info and related pages (the “Site“), a Kuala Lumpur city directory and guide operated by Traveline Media, no. 202203247655 (JR0139780-D) of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

By accessing or using the Site — browsing, searching, creating an account, submitting a listing, publishing a Premium Page, writing a guide, leaving a review, or contacting a business through us — you agree to these Terms of Use and the Disclaimer below. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect once posted on this page, and the “Last updated” date will change. Continuing to use the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

2. What KL City is (and is not)

KL City is an information and discovery platform. We publish directory listings, business pages, guides, events and related content about Kuala Lumpur to help people find places and businesses.

KL City is not a party to any dealing between you and any business, advertiser, contributor or other user. When you contact a business through an enquiry form, book, buy, visit or transact with them, that arrangement is strictly between you and that business. We do not sell the goods or services listed, and we do not act as agent, broker or guarantor for any business.

3. Eligibility and accounts

  • You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create an account or submit content.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you give us and for keeping your login details secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
  • You must not impersonate any person or business, or create an account for a business you are not authorised to represent.
  • We may suspend or close accounts that breach these Terms, at our discretion.

4. Acceptable use

When using the Site you agree not to:

  • post false, misleading, unlawful, defamatory, obscene, hateful, or infringing content;
  • submit content for a business without authorisation, or claim a business you do not own or represent;
  • upload material you do not have the rights to (including photos, text, logos and menus);
  • post spam, scrape the Site, or interfere with its operation or security;
  • use the Site to harass, threaten, or harm others; or
  • use the Site for any unlawful purpose or in breach of Malaysian law.

We may remove any content and restrict any account that we reasonably consider breaches these Terms, without notice.

5. Listings and Premium Pages

  • Free listings and paid Premium Pages display information supplied by, or on behalf of, the business concerned. The business is responsible for the accuracy, legality and currency of that information.
  • Publishing a listing or Premium Page does not amount to an endorsement, verification, certification, or recommendation by KL City.
  • Premium Pages are a paid, time-limited product. Pricing, duration and renewal are shown at the point of purchase. Publication may be subject to review before going live.
  • We give no guarantee of any particular result — including views, enquiries, leads, bookings, sales, ranking or placement — from any listing or Premium Page.
  • We may edit, decline, suspend or remove any listing or Premium Page that we reasonably consider inaccurate, unlawful, or in breach of these Terms. Where we remove a paid Premium Page for a breach caused by the advertiser, fees are non-refundable.

6. Payments

  • Paid products are processed through our third-party payment provider, HitPay, and may be subject to that provider’s own terms. We do not store your full card details.
  • Prices are in Malaysian Ringgit (RM) unless stated otherwise and, where applicable, are inclusive or exclusive of tax as indicated at checkout.
  • Except where required by Malaysian law or expressly stated, payments are non-refundable once a Premium Page or other paid product has been published or activated.

7. User-contributed content (guides, reviews, photos, comments)

Parts of the Site rely on content submitted by users and approved contributors (“User Content“), including guides, reviews, ratings, comments and images.

  • You keep ownership of the User Content you submit. By submitting it, you grant KL City a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, display, reproduce, adapt (for formatting) and distribute that content on and in connection with the Site and its promotion.
  • You confirm that you own or have the rights to everything you submit, and that it does not infringe anyone’s rights or break any law.
  • Reviews and ratings must reflect genuine, first-hand experience and must not be false, paid-for, defamatory, or posted to unfairly help or harm a business.
  • Contributor guides are published only from approved contributor accounts and are subject to our review before going live. Approval can be granted, declined or withdrawn at our discretion. Guides must be original and must not copy others’ work.
  • We may moderate, edit, decline, or remove any User Content at any time, and we are not obliged to publish or keep any submission.
  • User Content reflects the views of the person who submitted it, not those of KL City. We do not verify User Content and are not responsible for it.

8. Points, rewards and vouchers

  • Any points, rewards or vouchers offered on the Site have no cash value, cannot be exchanged for cash, and are provided as a convenience only.
  • Reward deals and vouchers are provided and honoured by the participating merchant, not by KL City. Any dispute about a deal is between you and that merchant.
  • We may change, suspend, or end the points and rewards programme, or expire points and vouchers, at any time.

9. Intellectual property

The Site’s design, branding, logos, software, and the content we create are owned by KL City or its licensors and are protected by law. You may not copy, reproduce, or reuse them without our written permission, except that you may share links to public pages. User Content remains owned by its authors as set out in Section 7.

10. Third-party businesses, links and services

The Site references and links to third-party businesses, websites and services. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content, products, services, availability, pricing, safety, licensing, or conduct. Any dealings you have with them are at your own risk and are governed by their terms, not ours.

11. Disclaimer

Please read this section carefully.

  • Information “as is”. All information on the Site — including business details, prices, opening hours, menus, halal status, availability, licences, property details, event details and guides — is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. It is gathered from businesses, contributors, and public sources and may be incomplete, out of date, or inaccurate. Always verify directly with the business before relying on it.
  • No endorsement or verification. Inclusion of any business, place, product, or service on the Site is not a recommendation, endorsement, or certification by KL City. Ratings and reviews are the personal opinions of users.
  • Not professional advice. Content on the Site — including guides, property information, travel information, and business details — is general information only and is not professional, legal, financial, real-estate, investment, travel, medical, or dietary advice. Seek qualified advice before making decisions.
  • Property information. Property prices (including any “From” or “Up to” figures), sizes, availability and terms are indicative only, are provided by the advertiser, may change without notice, and do not constitute an offer or a contract. Verify all details directly with the owner, agent, or developer.
  • Halal and dietary information. Any halal, dietary, or allergen information is provided by the business and is not verified by KL City. If this matters to you, confirm directly with the establishment and check for valid JAKIM certification.
  • Enquiries and bookings. Enquiry and contact features simply pass your message to the business. We are not a party to, and take no responsibility for, any resulting booking, transaction, or agreement.
  • Availability. We do not warrant that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure, and we may change or suspend features at any time.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by Malaysian law, KL City and its operators, owners, employees and contributors will not be liable for any loss or damage — direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential, including loss of profit, data, or goodwill — arising from or connected with your use of (or inability to use) the Site, your reliance on any information on it, or any dealing with a business, advertiser or user found through it.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under Malaysian law.

13. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KL City and its operators from any claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your User Content, or your misuse of the Site.

14. Privacy and personal data

We handle personal data in accordance with our [Privacy Policy] and Malaysia’s Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (PDPA). By using the Site you consent to the collection and use of your information as described there. (A separate Privacy Policy is required — this document does not cover it.)

15. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Site or any account at any time if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms or the law. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimer, liability, and indemnity) will continue to apply.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Malaysia.
